Tonight’s Innsbrook After Hours concert featuring Sheryl Crow has been postponed due to the possibility of severe weather later this evening. The concert has been moved to Thursday, July 11th. All tickets to tonight’s cancelled performance will be honored on the new date.

Correction: An earlier version of this update incorrectly stated that Brian Wilson is scheduled to perform. Innsbrook After Hours have informed RVANews that Wilson will not perform with the group. It also said they were on their 50th Anniversary Tour. That tour occurred in 2012. We apologize for the mistakes.

The Beach Boys will play Innsbrook After Hours in September.

The full schedule for this year’s Innsbrook After Hours hasn’t been released yet, but we already know of several concerts coming our way, including the kickoff happening one month from now.

Update #2 — March 8, 2013; 2:50 PM

A partial 2013 Innsbrook After Hours schedule has been announced. Now in it’s 28th year, the mid-week concert series returns with 22 performances across consecutive Wednesdays that feature national and local acts.

Season passes for the series are available here.

The series will begin May 1st with the performance of Staind frontman, Aaron Lewis. Tickets for that show go on sale Friday, March 15th.

Other performances this season will include:

  • Summerland Tour 2013 Alternative Guitars featuring Everclear, Live, Filter, and Sponge
  • Marshall Tucker Band
  • Steve Bassett with Robbin Thompson, together again
  • Dierks Bentley
  • Under the Sun Tour featuring Smashmouth, Sugar Ray, Gin Blossoms, Fastball, and Vertical Horizon
  • The Band Perry
  • Darius Rucker

Last month, former producers of the concert series, James River Entertainment, announced their departure after 10 years, causing some to think the series had ended (see below). But the Innsbrook Foundation, which oversees the series, was in no danger of folding, and later announced new managing producer, Larry Creegar.

Proceeds from Innsbrook After Hours benefits the Innsbrook Foundation and the American Constitution Spirit Foundation.

Update #1 — February 4, 2013; 7:57 PM

“We are definitely going forward with the Innsbrook After Hours series,” said Yvonne Nelson, Executive Director of the Innsbrook Foundation, by phone this afternoon. “We’re definitely going to have a concert series.”

Nelson remained mum when asked about the disagreements between the Innsbrook Foundation and the producers of its concert series (see below).

“I’m not as interested with the past as I am with the future…but what’s most important is that we’re here to make sure we have a beautiful Innsbrook brand.”

But Nelson did allude to one possible disagreement: fundraising.

“Part of our mission statement is to make sure we fulfill our philanthropic goals,” Nelson said, adding that the outdoor concert series is a “huge fundraiser” for charity.1 She said that the new producer, which will be announced “in the coming weeks”–along with the 2013 concert schedule–will better maximize those fundraising dollars in the coming years.

“We want to be able to do it in a bigger way,” she said. “It’s a big series with a lot of potential.”

Innsbrook After Hours will celebrate its 27th anniversary this year.

Producers of the Innsbrook After Hours outdoor concert series announced today on Facebook that, after 10 years, they would not renew their commitments to the event.

“Unfortunately, there were differing visions between the Innsbrook Foundation and ourselves regarding the direction of Innsbrook After Hours,” said Brad Wells, one of the owners of James River Entertainment (JRE), which has produced the Innsbrook concert series over the last decade.

“We felt it better to part ways with Innsbrook and refocus our efforts to venues where we could continue to provide the concert experience area music fans have come to expect.”

JRE has also helped create “Pocahontas Live” at Pocahontas State Park in Chester, VA and the “Virginia Crossroads Live” concert series in Crewe, VA.

Phone calls to the Innsbrook Foundation were not returned.
