RTD has the story of the unidentified victim. Normally stories this far south I consider out of the “H&H Zone”. In this case the hope is that the more people on the Southside that are aware of the situation the better the chances of resolution.

Richmond police are hoping the public can help them identify a female found dead in South Richmond on Monday.

Police are labeling the woman’s death a homicide.

Officers found the body in a wooded area after they were called to the 3700 block of Hopkins Road, near the Holly Springs Avenue intersection, at 8:39 a.m. on Monday for a report of a person down, according to Richmond police Capt. Martin Harrison.

Detectives say the 4-foot-10-inch black female was in her late-teens to early-20s, with a thin build and buzz-style haircut.

She was wearing a gray T-shirt with the words “Free and Proud” on the front. She was also wearing a Nike basketball jersey of former Philadelphia 76ers NBA player Allen Iverson, No. 3.

She has a tattoo that says “SAMMY G” on her left forearm; and “GOD’S GIFT” is tattooed across the knuckles of both hands. (Pictures are available on the RPD Facebook)

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (804) 780-1000, or text Crime Stoppers at 274637 using the key word “ITip” followed by your tip.
