Last week we reported on several fires in the area, including one that hit the Little House Green Grocery. Investigators have ruled that the fire was started by someone and not the result of faulty wiring or some other accidental cause.

Owners Erin and Jess have posted an update on the extent of the damage, including pictures on Facebook.

Here is a comprehensive update of the fire damage that occurred at Little House last Monday night. Investigators ruled the fire to be human caused. While the scope the fire was contained to the area at the back of the store, the ultimate damage to the building and the business is significant.

We will need to rebuild the electrical system, replace the HVAC, repair our roof and ceiling, rebuild our back room, replace lost inventory, and clean the soot out of every nook and cranny of the entire store. This process may take some time, and we are anxious to begin repairs. Your words of kindness have helped us through this difficult week. Thank you for all of your messages, comments, and emails. Stay tuned for ways that you can get involved in our rebuilding.
