Victim identified in fatal shooting on Fairfield

The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim in Saturday’s homicide as Keith D. Evans, 37, of the 1600 block of Glenfield Avenue.

At approximately 5:47 p.m., officers were called to the 2300 block of Fairfield Avenue for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found Evans suffering from a gunshot wound.

Evans was transported to VCU Medical Center where he died.

The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.

Richmond police are seeking a suspect in a fatal shooting Saturday in the 2300 block of Fairfield Avenue.

Officers were summoned shortly before 6 p.m. to the scene and found a man in his 30s with a gunshot wound, authorities said. He was taken to VCU Medical Center where he died.
