‘American Idol’ hosts auditions in RVA

Get those vocal cords ready!

The American Idol Bus Tour drives into Richmond this week. The audition bus will park outside the State Capitol on Bank Street (between 10th and 12th streets) Tuesday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM to judge would-be contestants for the show’s next season. The Richmond stop is one of only five on the East Coast leg of the tour.

Auditioners must bring two forms of ID and a photograph of themselves. They must also bring a completed Personal Release form (PDF).

NBC 12 spoke to Patrick Lynn, a senior producer for the show:

“Leave your nerves at home!” said Lynn.

Lynn says at this level, the producers will be in search of people who are ready for the big time, and the more comfortable you are in that intense setting, the better your chances of moving on.

“Relax, smile and do your best, and leave the nerves somewhere else,” Lynn said.
