2011 election results
Election season 2011 has come and gone, and in Richmond at least, things were pretty boring. The big story is the Republican takeover of the Senate. This is a good lesson in the importance of every vote.
Election season 2011 has come and gone, and in Richmond at least, things were pretty boring. The big story is the Republican takeover of the Senate. This is a good lesson in the importance of every vote. The Senate is now tied–20 Democrats, 20 Republicans–with the Lieutenant Governor, Republican Bill Bolling, holding the tie breaking vote. The 20th seat the Republicans picked up yesterday (District 17, mostly in Spotsylvania), was decided by 86 votes*. That’s just 0.19% of the total votes cast in that particular race. Voting is important.
The complete results form last night’s election can be found on the State Board of Election’s website. Below are the results, and vote totals, for contested races affecting Richmond.
