Perk! Coffee + Lunchbox officially opening on Saturday

Another lunch and coffee option in our area.

Update #2 — February 13, 2015; 9:15 AM

The Perk website says,

“The time has come folks, Perk! will officially be open this weekend! We can’t wait to celebrate the love with you all this Valentine’s weekend! Stop by and treat yourself or someone special to an amazing crafted espresso drink or Valentine’s treat. We can’t wait to have coffee with you soon!”

However I’ve seen several Tweets including this one that implies a “soft opening”. Do with that information what you will but I’m looking forward to checking it out.

Richmond BizSense.com has an article this morning: Rookie cafe owners perk up Bon Air

Behind the venture are Christophile Konstas, Elizabeth Ellen and Jay Metzler, a trio of first-time cafe owners.

“Aside from the Starbucks that’s a few miles away, there was nothing local that offered all the local items we like to get,” Konstas said of Bon Air. “It was kind of a selfish endeavor– we wanted to bring coffee to the neighborhood for ourselves.”

The article also discusses the use of Kickstarter to finance the espresso equipment for their fledgling coffee shop. For $250 donation you’ll get a cup of coffee everyday for a year and a bunch of other goodies, so check it out at the previous link.

Those close to Bon Air will have a new coffee and lunch option this winter. Perk! Coffee + Lunchbox  is going into what was formally the Bon Fruyo frozen yogurt shop. Not much in the way of details as of yet but it looks like they’re shooting for a December opening.
