Woman fatally stabbed on the Southside

According to various reports, police were called to a unit of the Midlothian Village Apartments (4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike at 5:59am on Friday. Upon entering the unit, a female stabbing victim was found. An ambulance was called, but she died at the scene.

The suspect has been apprehended. From the RPD:

The Richmond Police Department has arrested Moses Pernall Jones, Jr., 22, of 9428 Telegraph Run Lane, Glen Allen, VA and charged him with the murder of Brittney Ivisha Randolph, 20, of 4030 Midlothian Turnpike.

The attack took place shortly before 6 o’clock this morning in Randolph’s residence at the Midlothian Village Apartments. She died at the scene of knife-inflicted wounds.

The department is grateful for the excellent work by the Henrico Police Department in assisting with the apprehension of Jones at his home.

According to various reports, police were called to a unit of the Midlothian Village Apartments (4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike) at 5:59am on Friday. Upon entering the unit, a female stabbing victim was found. An ambulance was called, but she died at the scene. Police are calling this a domestic-related homicide.

The suspect was described as a black male, about 5’10” inches tall, with a beard and wearing all black clothing. He was driving a 1992 black Toyota pickup truck with vanity tags “USEEMO.

Later this morning, a SWAT team surrounded a home on New York Avenue in Glen Allen where the suspect had reportedly barricaded himself. More on this as it becomes available.

The victim of the name has not been released.

This tragic incident brings Richmond’s murder total to four, up from two in January of 2009.
