Where to watch fireworks

This year, celebrate our country’s independence right: music, food, and of course, fireworks. Home fireworks are prohibited in the City of Richmond, Henrico County, and Chesterfield County, so here’s a list of places you can see fireworks on and around the 4th!

FREEDOMFEST

Live music, food, and craft vendors with fireworks at nightfall. Featuring Martin and Godwin from the hit show Duck Dynasty!

FIREWORKS ON THE JAMES

Celebrate the third year of fireworks on the James sponsored by Dominion and MeadWestvaco. Food vendors and entertainment provided by the School of the Performing Arts in the Richmond Community, the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Richmond Ballet’s “Minds in Motion.” No alcohol allowed, and pets discouraged.

GENWORTH INDEPENDENCE DAY CONCERT

Music provided by the Heritage of America Band with the 7th annual fireworks display to follow. Face painting, balloons, food vendors and more with plenty of parking.

Hardywood Brewdependence 2.0

Celebrate America with the brewery’s first Session beer, SB 604, a 3.8% ABV American Special Bitter. There’ll also be music and eats from a dozen RVA Street Foodies food trucks and carts, culminating in 4th of July fireworks over the Diamond.

FIREWORKS AT DOGWOOD DELL

The afternoon begins with a free concert by Simply Kevin B, a Carillon Bell Concert, and the Richmond Concert Band for a mix of patriotism, pop and jazz before fireworks at night.

NIGHTS OF FIRE AT KING’S DOMINION

Fireworks every night through the summer for 10 PM closes; shows start at 9:45

KING’S DOMINION MILITARY DAYS

  • July 4th and 5th
  • King’s Dominion, 16000 Theme Park Way – Doswell, VA
  • FREE Admission to active, inactive, or retired military personnel with ID with an extended 15 minute fireworks show on July 4th. Up to 6 family and friends into the park for $38.99 with the military ID. Tickets can be purchased at military installations or at the park

FIREWORKS AND THE FLYING SQUIRRELS

Watch the Squirrels take on the Akron Aeros and end the night with a 24 Firework Extravaganza during the Squirrels Independence Day Celebration on July 4th and 5th and All-Star Celebration on July 6th
