It's a sad day for movie fans -- particularly movie fans who were kids in the '80s and wore out their cassettes of the Dirty Dancing soundtracks while dancing around frenetically in the basement with their sisters. Last year in a wave of nostalgia, I Netflixed that classic romance and was surprised to learn several things about that film that my ten-year-old self glossed over (to my mom's relief, I'm sure), but one thing hadn't changed. My heart still pounded to that classic rhythm: "Da-dum, da-dum, da-dum."

But then my ears pounded to the sound of my spouse shouting, "TURN IT OFF." There's no accounting for taste.

What better way to celebrate the great Swayze than taking a poll I just made up??

1. Which is more romantic, Dirty Dancing or Ghost?

2. Who was more emotionally repressed in Point Break, Bodhi or Johnny Utah?

3. If we could stage a dance-off between Swayze of 1987 and Travolta of 1977, who would win? (Go ahead and picture how joyously weird that occasion would be.)

4. And last but not least, what's the best Swayze moment in movie history?

Ho there, reader of RSS feeds! Do you ever want to support RVANews in a real and tangible way?
