Wegmans announces opening dates for Short Pump, Midlothian stores

The company is now hiring for both Richmond area locations.

Wegmans announced the grand opening dates for its two Richmond area locations on Thursday.

The Midlothian store, a 115,000 square-foot supermarket, will open at Stonehenge Village Shopping Center on Sunday, May 22nd. The company’s Short Pump store, a 120,000 square-foot supermarket, is set to open at West Broad Marketplace on Sunday, August 7th.

Hiring and training are ongoing for both stores, and the company is accepting applications for a variety of part-time customer service and culinary positions across every department. Select full-time openings remain for chefs, line cooks, and restaurant service jobs.

The two stores will each employ approximately 550 people, 500 of whom will be new to the company and hired locally. Both locations will also feature The Pub by Wegmans, a full-service family restaurant within the store, known for fresh, seasonal food and local craft beer.

The Richmond stores will be the first to open during the company’s 100th anniversary in 2016.
