“Treat yo’ self” to Carytown Cupcakes “Un-Valentine’s Day” offerings

Carytown Cupcakes is taking a different approach to Valentine’s Day–or should we say Valentine’s Meh–this year.

According to a number of statistics, singles currently outnumber the married population in the United States. More than ever, people are pursuing careers, working on degrees, traveling or simply “weighing their options” before getting into relationships. Carytown Cupcakes is embracing the concept and approaching Valentine’s Day a little differently this year.

“The definition of relationship is evolving,” Carytown Cupcakes said in a news release. “In the case of Carytown Cupcakes, our cupcakes have evolved too. Instead of the sappy memorabilia that traditionally can be found in stores and online, our cupcakes reflect a more contemporary approach to relationships, that is, sometimes your best relationship is with yourself, or your closest girlfriend, perhaps a bottle of wine or simply that there really isn’t one, but rather, there is the ability to date or do whatever it is that you want to do.”

Starting Monday, February 8th, the Carytown cupcake shop will offer “Un-Valentine’s Day” cupcakes with creative themes including Galentine’s Day, Nothing to Wine About, Treat Yo’ Self, Netflix & Chill, Bleeding Heart, and Un-conversation Heart.

For those happy lovebirds, the shop’s classic cupcakes will be decorated with rosettes–each color corresponding to a different meaning.

On Thursday, February 11th and Friday, February 12th, Carytown Cupcakes will also have live music from 5:00 – 7:00 PM featuring both love ballads and epic breakup songs. Morgan Stewart takes the stage Thursday evening; The Whiskey Wells play Friday night.

Rosettes and Un-Valentine’s Day cupcakes will be available February 8th through the 14th.

Carytown Cupcakes is located at 3111 West Cary Street in Carytown.
