Monday May 17th 9:30 PM: DJ Doddie
DJ Doddie has quickly established himself as a local fixture in the Richmond, VA scene having played with Wu Tang Clan, A-Trak, Girl Talk, DJ Krames, Tittsworth, Biz Markie, Slick Rick, Dave Nada and the Clipse.
Tuesday May 18th 9:30 PM: Miramar
Miramar brings love and anti-love songs about longing to a new generation. They revive the bolero, a traditional Latin American song form, by following in the footsteps of the great Puerto Rican troubadours of the 1950′s and 60′s, performing a mix of original and classic songs. These nostalgic melodies are passionately sung in intricate harmonies by the mesmerizing vocalist Laura Ann Singh and veteran Salsa singer Reinaldo Alvarez, who doubles on maracas. Their voices are augmented by acoustic guitar, bass, just the right amount of percussion and the eloquent flourishes of leader Marlysse Simmons who alternates between piano and a haunting B3-like organ.
Thursday May 20th 10 PM: No BS Brass Band
NO BS! is a Richmond, Virginia-based band combining the spirit of New Orleans with original compositions and a select array of hits from the ’70s and ’80s in an eclectic, virtuosic, and rowdy package. Brass have been trained in the conservatory and in the garage band and draw their inspiration from every conceivable source including funk, jazz, klezmer, Led Zeppelin, calypso, and delta blues.

Did I hear a first repeat in there?
Alan Sherman?
The Heavy, I think…
If it was a repeat, I was glad to hear it again.
no, The Heavy have been played before, but not that tune. I think the no repeat goal is still in effect…
I don’t know about the repeats, but I am totally stoked about the new decal I’m gonna put on my wife’s Mini. She will be so thrilled. I just can’t decide on which design to go with.
