Spring Break at CMoR Central

Spring Break kicks off in a little over a week. Thankfully, the Children’s Museum of Richmond’s Central location has plenty of fun and educational activities lined up to keep those kiddos busy.

Richmond area public school kids’ Spring Break runs April 14th through 19th, and the Children’s Museum of Richmond‘s Central location is ready to welcome the little rug rats with open arms.

With special events scheduled for each day of the break, you’re sure to find something to suit your kids’ respective fancies–and they should learn a thing or two while they’re busy having fun.

Monday, April 14th: Silly Science

Hands on demonstrations every hour from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM will give the kids chance to make messes (including Ooblek!), experiment with rockets, and just spend some time figuring out how things work.

Tuesday, April 15th: Astonishing Animals

Come by between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM for Reptile Adventures, check out Virginia Living Museum’s “Mother Nature’s Traveling Roadshow” from 12:00 to 1:00 PM, and stay until 4:00 PM to spend some time with Virginia Sports Horses’s therapy horses.

Wednesday, April 16th: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles

Visit with a licensed pilot and take part in an airplane contest with the 2014 Snow Queen from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. You can follow that up with model railway demonstrations from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM before meeting local arena racer Ricky Dennis starting at 1:00 PM. Themed crafts and story times will also take place throughout the day.

Thursday, April 17th: Amazing Art

Art, art, art, all the live-long day. Well, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, at least.

Friday, April 18th: Crazy Carnival

Play games, collect tickets, win prizes, get your caricature done (between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM), and enjoy some sweet treats! Balloons by Extreme will also be around from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Saturday, April 19th: Marvelous Music

Enjoy a performance from Dovetail Ensemble at 1:00 PM.

CMoR Central is located at 2626 W. Broad Street. Hours are 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM daily. Admission is $8. Members (and kids under 1) are free.
