Southern Season partners with The Farm Table to increase access to local produce

Order fresh produce conveniently online AND support local farms at the same time. What could be better?

Fresh local veggies will soon come to West End newcomer Southern Season–a specialty grocer off Staples Mill Road–thanks to a partnership with The Farm Table, a local online farmers market.

From the news release:

Southern Season is excited to announce that beginning April 25, Farm Table, a weekly online farmer’s market with all of its produce and artisan goods originating within 150 miles of Richmond, will be setting up tables outside the store at 2250 Staples Mill Rd. From 11 a.m.-3 p.m. every Saturday (out front weather permitting or indoors as need arises) customers will be able to place orders of select fresh produce offerings that will be available for pick-up on Thursdays.

The goal of Farm Table is to have produce harvested and delivered within 48 hours. This is the company’s fifth season and in 2014 they harvested over 700,000 pounds of produce and offered over 380 different types of products. While this market is focused on the Richmond store, Farm Table does deliver to homes and businesses throughout the state including Fredericksburg, Hampton Roads, and parts of Northern Virginia.
