Kroger has tweaked its fuel rewards program again. Effective February 1, fuel rewards can stack up to $1 off per gallon. Under the prior rules, shoppers could only use one $.10 reward at a time. The change makes it quite similar to Ukrop's fuelperks, which have no redemption limit.

Kroger shoppers accumulate 1 point on their Plus cards for every $1 spent on groceries, and 100 points for every 2 prescriptions filled or $50 in gift cards purchased. 100 points equals $.10 off per gallon. So if you had $400 in grocery purchases in January and filled 2 prescriptions, you would receive $.50 off per gallon (500 points) at one February fill-up.

The rewards can only be redeemed at Kroger fuel centers, of which there are 8 (soon to be 9) in the Richmond area.

Superbowl deals are big this week, a good time to stock up on junk food. And the "Big Game Greats" $5 off 10 participating items promo continues at Kroger.
