Dinamo

Ed Vasaio’s well known for Edo’s Squid and Mamma Zu. His third restaurant, Dinamo, is now open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at 821 W. Cary Street. Here’s a look inside.

Curry Craft Indian Restaurant and Wine Bar

Curry Craft opened in the old Bonvenu space at 2915 W. Cary Street. The Consultant Chef & Wine Director of Lehja on Broad Street, Mel Oza, is the owner and has crafted a menu focused on Indian cuisine.

Portrait House

This is Hamooda Shami’s third Carytown restaurant–he also owns New York Deli and Don’t Look Back, each located on the very same block. Portrait House’s menu includes sliders, burgers, and pizzas. There are 24 taps of craft beer available in small or large glasses, and it’s open daily for lunch and dinner.

Unleashed Gourmet Hot Dogs

A family-owned business that offers hot dogs “from every corner of the world,” but is conveniently located in the VCU area. The new spot offers both meat and veggie dogs, and will soon offer delivery service.

Blue Bee Cider

Blue Bee Cider recently opened with a tasting of its first cider label, Arragon 1904. The cidery’s juice is made from 100% Virginia Gold apples. Tasting room hours are Friday through Sunday from 12:00 – 6:00 PM.

Here’s a profile of owner Courtney Mailey we ran a while back.
