Cancer survivors strut their stuff to find a cure

On September 10, nearly 50 cancer survivors of all ages will hit the runway sporting fashions from local and national designers and retailers to celebrate the diversity of cancer survivorship. Funds raised at this event (appropriately-named Cure by Design) will go to help the American Cancer Society continue its cutting-edge research, early detection and prevention education, advocacy efforts, and patient services.

Cure by Design will take place from 6pm to 10pm at the Jefferson Hotel and will include a cocktail reception, silent auction, fashion show, live auction, and a reception for the survivors.

Featured designers include include Alex Garfield and Tommy Hilfiger of New York along with Montoya of Richmond. And listen up, all you Bravo fans: Johnathan Kayne from season 3 of “Project Runway” will also make a special guest appearance and style four models in the show.

Tickets are $125 with proceeds going to the American Cancer Society.
