Burger Bach opens, Black Hand finds bigger digs, and the best of Richmond restaurants

A few weeks ago we chatted about Burger Bach, the new restaurant going into the old Ellwood's Cafe. It is now officially open! They're serving up New Zealand inspired burgers, beers, wines, and more. Go check them out!

According to West of the Boulevard News, Black Hand Coffee will be moving to a larger space. They just recently signed a lease at 3101 Patterson Avenue, which is about two blocks from their current location. Don't worry: if this your regular coffee stop, your route won't be changing too much in the morning.

It's official: Stella's now has liquor, and to go along with the new bar additions is a fantastic cocktail menu--lots of homemade syrups and fresh ingredients are involved. Check out the menu on their Facebook page. Don't forget, they have a happy hour from 4-6pm, Monday through Friday.

The Virginia Wine Expo is in two weeks, February 24th through 26th, so you need to start planning which events you want to attend. There are opportunities to attend specific seminars, combinations of events, or you can just walk around and taste away. There are over 70 premier wineries, speciality foods, and all kinds of good fun. They are even adding events on Friday this year so you can kick your weekend off right. Start planning here.

Richmond Magazine hosted the inaugural Elby's this past Sunday evening at the Virginia Historical Society. The event honored Richmond's food industry in nine categories. Some of the winners included Best New Restaurant going to the Roosevelt, Chef of the Year went to Dale Reitzer at Acacia, and the other seven winners can be seen (with some pictures) at West of the Boulevard News.
