Scott’s Addition Pumpkin Festival returns for second year October 25th

The event, now in its second year, drew thousands to the Boulevard last year.

Update #1 — September 25, 2014; 2:18 PM

There’s a sizable disagreement over whether this festival, which has new organizers and a new name, is actually in its second year or if this is a new festival entirely. Details of the two organizing entities and their respective sides of the story are available here.

A popular festival that drew thousands to the Boulevard in its first year announced plans today to return for a second go next month.

The Scott’s Addition Pumpkin Festival presented by Bon Secours, which drew a crowd of more than 13,000 in 2013, will take place Saturday, October 25th from noon until 6:oo PM.

Attendees can expect to find live music, local food and vendors (many offering pumpkin-themed dishes), and lots of craft beer options from neighborhood breweries such as Ardent Craft Ales, Isley Brewing Company, Hardywood Park Craft Brewery and Strangeways Brewing, according to a news release from the organizing committee. A VIP beer garden will also be offered this year, for an additional price (details forthcoming).

This year, the event will feature a Family Movie Night at the Bon Secours Washington Redskins Training Center at 6:00 PM. The Halloween-themed, family-friendly double feature will include It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and Monsters, Inc. Dogs will not be permitted at the Family Movie Night area, and, to promote a healthier environment for all, it will also be designated as a non-smoking area.

Bon Secours will also host an expanded Kids Zone.
