High end reclaimed wood supplier sets up showroom at Scott’s Addition warehouse

The local business reclaims wood from old structures to be reused and often be juxtaposed with modern environments.

Reclaimed wood manufacturer Surface Architectural Supply is putting the finishing touches on a new showroom to accompany its 20,000-square-foot facility at 1504 Belleville Street in Scott’s Addition.

The business, which sources and reclaims wood from old structures and even fallen trees locally, aims to serve a higher end market niche and has recently worked with local food service entities such as ice cream shop Gelati Celesti in Short Pump, Southbound restaurant in South Richmond, and The Boathouse’s forthcoming location at Short Pump Town Center.

Most of the company’s wood comes from within a 300 mile radius of Richmond and goes through an incentive process to remove defects and insects, which Richmond BizSense details. SAS also aims to ensure all of its wood is responsibly sourced to ensure sustainability.
