Henrico Police release stats on use of body cameras over the past year

300 officers in the county have recorded over 38,000 videos since the program was established earlier this year.

More than 300 police body cameras have been issued to Henrico Police officers this year, police confirmed Monday. When all the cameras are distributed, there will be 416 body cameras in the county.

To date, Henrico Police have recorded 38,000 videos (taking up 4.24 terabytes of storage).

Henrico Police Chief Douglas Middleton says rollout of the cameras, which we reported on last year, is ahead of schedule.
