I had something similar at a party once where the bacon was tied in knots before they sprinkled it with sugar and cooked it up. It was to die for--and I eyed my hosts' substantial girth and worried that their days were numbered if this was their idea an appetizer.

Now that I've discovered Vosges' Mo's Bacon Bar (http://www.vosgeschocolate.com/product/bacon_exotic_candy_bar/exotic_candy_bars), CHOCOLATE with bacon, I wonder what I was so worried about, and, even more importantly, why I didn't think of it first.

I first heard about sprinkling sugar on bacon many, many moons ago while watching an old episode of Gomer Pyle. Gomer had made breakfast for Sarge and Sarge started raving about bacon which set Gomer off on a long spiel about about his mamma (or nana) use to sprinkle sugar on bacon. I tried it a few times and loved it! Unfortunately, not everyone in the family was too thrilled with this early form of bacon candy. I bet they would like this version those.

We love the pig!
