What do you think of our shiny, new design?
December 8, 2008
You might have noticed that things look a little different around here.
After much sweat and toil, we are please to present the new and improved RVANews. We’re hoping that this new set up will better showcase all of our content and also serve as a general level up for our overall goodness.
Take a look around and let us know what you think.

The design itself is very nice, I appreciate the simplicity. With that said, the design further de-emphasizes the community blogs as feeders to the site. Above the fold you’ve got posts that are 10 days old, but nothing from any of the community sites.

Not to be an old stick in the mud, but I do miss the links to all of the neighborhood blogs on the right. Maybe they are there someplace, but I can’t find them.

Y’all got Skills…This thing is purdy…
#john m You could switch out “Top Stories” (right top column) for “Community News” ? The image navigation going across the bottom is essentially the top stories anyways.
I guess you could do a rotating “main story” a la everyone else, but personally, I’m not a big fan of the scroll…

The links to all the community news sites and their one line bios can be found on this page:
http://rvanews.com/community-news-sites/
You can get there under the “Community” tab under “Who’s who.”

Design looks great, but I come here first and foremost for the Community Blogs feed and I’m irked that they have been relegated to the basement. The Community Blogs- not the Op/Ed etc Columns- are your bread and butter, CURRENT, content. I agree with john m- with the layout as it is now, you have OLD material featured prominently.

This link is available for those of you who miss the prominence of the community news sites:
http://community.rvanews.com
Think of it as a handy shortcut. Also there are separate feeds for the features and the community news sites — if you’d like to subscribe to one or the other.
