According to a recent article in BusinessWeek, Richmond is the 6th best place in the country to start over, citing reasonable home prices, a not-terrifying unemployment rate, and a diverse job market.

Rounding out the top five were: Anchorage, Alaska; Provo-Orem, Utah; Kennewick-Richland-Pasco, Washington; Yakima, Washington; and Omaha, Neb.-Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Quite a showing from the West-ish area. Why do you think that is? And, do you agree with their assessment of Richmond?

Also, do they ALWAYS have to use the Jefferson Davis monument when referring to Richmond? What about St. John’s Church? Or a picture of the mighty James?
