Coats stolen from Salvation Army

You might remember that last week we published a story last week about the Salvation Army’s Christmas Center over at Chesterfield Towne Center.

Well it seems that sometime between 8pm on December 18 and 10:15am on December 19, someone broke into the Christmas Center and stole approximately 1,000 of the donated coats, 300 of which were new. There appear to be no signs of forced entry to the store.

Anyone with information should contact the Chesterfield County Police Department at 804-748-1251 or Crime Solvers at 804-748-0660 or text the code tip699 with the tip and send to 274637 (CRIMES).

**UPDATE**
A corrected press release was sent out stating that after a more thorough inventory, the Salvation Army has determined that 200 to 300 coats were stolen.

Still sucks.

**ANOTHER UPDATE**

Jk, jk, nevermind.

Sounds like an inside job – this was pretty common (not on this scale however) when I worked at a thrift store up in PA.

I never did believe this had happened. It’s hard to conceal 300 coats under your coat.
