Ombak announced the release of their new album, Framing the Void, which we reviewed. From Brooklyn came Adam Caine Trio for a gig at The Camel, where their avant-garde set was gently interrupted by a newly married couple's request for a love song to dance to. It was all at once sweet, romantic, and kind of weird. Ilad and No BS! Brass teamed up for the brass band's second event in the "With Our Powers Combined" series. A shed behind the new Bogart's caught on fire and brought the re-opening process to a halt for a while, but the club was soon up and running again. Glows in the Dark's Scott Burton announced the upcoming Matana Roberts/GITD show, which we would help sponsor. Guest author Tommy Beekman reviewed Lucas Fritz's "Rumble on Vine Street," and an interesting conversation took place in the comments.
