High Water pop-up shop a beautiful addition to First Fridays

Photos from this past weekend’s absolutely beautiful High Water pop-up shop.

Update #2 — August 7, 2013; 10:21 AM

A handful of companies combined their creative talents and marketplaces into one collective store for clothes, furniture, and vinyl at the two-day High Water pop-up shop on Broad Street this past weekend. Local companies Ledbury, Shockoe Denim, The Odd Couple, and Steady Sounds all packed into the storefront of Black Iris Music to sell their wares and show off some local creativity.

“I think it was a tremendous success,” said Elisabeth Edelman, Ledbury’s vice president of branding and communications.

“I think we have an influence on Richmond’s culture and to be able to collaborate like that to put our heads together is a really cool opportunity.”

Edelman said that Ledbury did about as well at the pop-up as they do on a regular day in their usual location in Shockoe Bottom. Although Ledbury has no plans as of yet to again collaborate with these companies, it does have similar pop-ups in the works for the future.

“The whole point of it was to build awareness and to show off the creativity that Richmond has, especially along that First Friday’s corridor so I think we definitely accomplished that,” she said.
