Get your culture on: The Arts & Culture Xpo returns!

Think of it like a food festival, but replace “food vendor” with “cultural organization.” You’ll get samples of what RVA has to offer, and you can plan your culturing for the rest of the year accordingly!

Maybe this applies to you: you had a membership to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts — once. You went for that one big show, but other than that, you’ve remained blissfully unaware of all the really cool stuff going on in Central Virginia’s arts scene. If so, the Fifth Annual Arts & Culture Xpo is the perfect way to introduce yourself to more than 60 local organizations that support music, visual arts, theater, history, and dance…and it’s FREE.

Xpo--02--2015.06.10

There really is something for everybody at the Xpo. History buffs can check out what’s new at the Valentine or Pamplin Historical Park. Dance fans can engage with the Latin Ballet of Virginia and theater nuts can meet folks from the Firehouse Theatre. See full list of exhibitors here.

Throughout the day, there are free performances, lots of interactive activities, and many organizations are offering special discounts on memberships, classes, tickets, and more.

This year, the Xpo returns to the Science Museum, and will be housed in the Thalhimer Pavilion. It’s a great experience for kids, and new this year–visitors can find food trucks and craft beer!

The Arts & Culture Xpo is an annual event put on by Culture Works, whose mission is to strengthen arts and culture organizations in the region by providing grants, training and support, networking, collaboration and publicly celebrating their work.
