Dance Magazine cover features dancer from the Richmond Ballet

An amazing local dancer will soon get international recognition as she’ll be featured on the cover of world’s leading dance publication.

Outside Magazine is not the only cover to feature a slice of RVA. Richmond Ballet performer Maggie Small will grace the September cover of Dance Magazine, the leading international dance publication.

“Maggie represents so much of what we feel is special about the Richmond Ballet,” said Stoner Winslett, artistic director of the Richmond Ballet. “She is a Richmond native trained in both our School of Richmond Ballet and Minds in Motion programs who has developed into a both powerful and lovely dancer who has received notice now on the worldwide stage.”

To help celebrate Maggie’s cover and the Richmond Ballet’s 29th season, the Ballet will hold an open house tonight at 6:30 PM at their 407 E. Canal Street studios. The open house will give the public an opportunity to tour the studio and meet performers.

The Richmond Ballet performed in London earlier this summer, and will kick-off their season with the Studio One performance of Streets And Legends and Gargoyles beginning later this month.
