Southern Hip Hop YouTube Potpourri

So, as you might know, we are stepping up the hip hop presence over here at the RVANews offices. First, we convinced local label Concice Records to contribute some stellar tracks to the Eight Track, and next week I will write a charming article explaining in detail Concice’s exact contribution to our local musical community. I thought that to carry us all over to next Friday I’d compile a Southern Hip Hop YouTube collection. I’ve been reading about this Southern Hip Hop thing a bit and here’s what I came up with; 6 regions with an archetypal video from each region….

Miami - 2 Live Crew

Houston - UGK

Memphis - Three 6 Mafia

New Orleans
- Master P

Atlanta - Outkast

Virginia - Missy Elliot

Thoughts? Come on, this is ripe for comments. Spit ‘em out.

Best,

Timbaland would be a better rep for Virginia -raised in VA Beach - since he helped make Missy, among others.

I put that one since it is a timbaland produced track - i thought i’d get two for one.
