March 5, 2008 - 14:01

by Valerie Catrow

Guys. Tom “Mr. Yelling Everything In a Gargly Voice” Hanks himself is coming to RVA (specifically to the Byrd -OMG that’s so close to my house) this Sunday for the Virginia premier of John Adams, his new miniseries with HBO.

We should totally go stalk the red carpet and yell “Hooch!” at him when he makes his appearance.

Who’s in?

I was totally IN THE SAME BUILDING as he was. I catered the NY premiere on Monday at the Museum of Modern Art. Never saw him. He was safely cloistered away upstairs. I did, however, serve cute little hors d’oeuvres to the likes of Morgan Freeman, cast member Zeljko Ivanek, Josh Charles (Knox “Tell Me Why They Swoon” Overstreet from Dead Poets Society), Dominick Dunne, and even Carl Bernstein.

I saw cast members Paul Giamatti and Mamie Gummer too, but I wasn’t important enough to serve them.

    I carried a watermelon?

I might have been more excited about Morgan Freeman. I mean, he played GOD.

But with Morgan Freeman we couldn’t scream hilariously. Instead we’d have to talk about this whole thing in a flat, wise voice.
