BREAKING NEWS - Men get better jobs than women! Who knew?!?

Entertainment Weekly Online posted this well-intentioned but ridiculous article posing the idiotic question “Do we need more women movie critics?”
Of course, the specific profession in question here is close to my heart, but it seriously terrifies me that this kind of thing is JUST OCCURRING to people. Some of the commenters actually say “It baffles me that there aren’t more women writing film reviews!” It baffles you?? Have you looked around in the past x number of years?* There are about a million professions/pursuits in which women are glaringly absent. Well, I thought it was glaring, but at least one guy is patting himself on the back for just now noticing it.
Anyway, feel free to leave a comment on this dumb article (his, not mine) (although you can leave one on THIS dumb article too) being like “We have one. There should be more. Glad you are finally realizing obvious things.”
Oh well, I guess a step in the right direction, however naively and late to the game it is, is still a step.

I’m going to have to ask all the female managers I’ve had for the last 10 years who have had the unpleasant job of corralling me how they got such a crummy job. Then their is my female atty, doctor and dentist and other professionals I deal with, I’ll have to get their opinions. I know a ton of female musicians, but they have cool jobs so they don’t count. I’ll start with my siblings who all have modest jobs, fine houses an 3 months off every summer. This could take awhile. I’ll get back to you with my report,.

Of course things are better than they were fifty years ago! I’m just saying, it’s not news that there are lots of professions whose glass ceilings women and minorities have yet to break.
I’m not making some sort of revolutionary statement here!
You know what I learned the other day? Women are allowed to vote now! I mean, come on?? What’s next? Women driving a car?! This women’s lib thing is getting out of control…
